Career

Studied in the United States, Europe under Yeatman Griffith (voice) and Charles Trier (acting). Made debut, Lamoureux Orchestra, Scheveningen, The Netherlands, 1912. Operatic debut as Gilda in Rigoletto, Darmstadt, Germany, 1912.

London debut with Thomas Beecham and Queens Hall Orchestra, 1913.

Prima donna coloratura Chicago Opera Company (American debut as Rosina in Barber of Seville, 1914), Ravinia Park Opera Company, 1914-1931, appearing as Mimi, Lucia, Juliet, Martha, Violetta, Ophelia and others In concert, oratorio and radio since 1932.

Proposed and helped organize, Los Angeles Opera Guild, 1940. Honorary member Sigma Alpha Iota.
