Founder, managing director emeritus The Cradle Society, Evanston, organized in 1923 for the purpose of receiving and preparing homeless babies for adoption into permanent homes—a work in which she had been engaged for several years prior to 1923. Over 6000 babies adopted in homes in the United States and in some foreign countries as result of her work and that of The Cradle Society.
Has assisted in development of improved technique for care of babies where considerable number are cared for in one place, resulting in an unusually low death rate.
