Nile Expedition, 1897 (clasp to Egyptian medal). Nile Expedition, 1898, battles of the Atbara and Khartoum, defeat of Alimid Fedil’s army (despatches three times, Brevet of Lieutenant-Colonel, Companion of the Distinguished Service Order, and 3 clasps to Egyptian medal). Attached Egyptian Army, 1888-1890 and 1896- 1905 (3rd class Osmanieh, 2nd class Medjidie, and a Pacha in Egypt).
Retired from the army, 1905. Companion of the Distinguished Service Order 1899; retired.
