Between 1720 and 1775 he was a pupil of his father Andrea Basili, later of Jannaconi at Rome.
Francesco Basili was a conductor at Foligno, Macerata and Loreto, and up to 1824 brought out 2 operas and several "dramatic oratorios" in Rome, Naples, Florence, Milan and Venice. In April 1827 he used to be a censor of Milan Conservatory. In 1837, conductor at St. Peter's, Rome.
He was a pupil of his father Andrea Basili.
