He appeared in fifty-five films between 1920 and 1943. In his early film career, he was often credited as Francis X. Bushman, Junior. He was a maternal uncle of Pat Conway (1931–1981), star of the American Broadcasting Company western television series Tombstone Territory (1957–1960).
