In 1901 Francis Yerbury was an office boy at the Architectural Association (AA), where he was promoted to the secretary in 1911. His efforts contributed to the success of that lively association (he served as secretary for twenty-six years), and he helped create one of the finest schools of architecture in the country, The Building Centre, of which he was co-founder and director from 1932 to 1961.
Francis Yerbury was elected an Honorary Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (1924).
