Went with him to Kumasi (awarded Ashanti star). Travelling Commissioner Gold Coast Colony, 1896-1902.
Acting Chief Commissioner of Ashanti 1902 and 1904. Invalided, 1904. Decorated for conducting operations against Sofas, 1897 (West African medal, with special clasp for Dawkita).
