Has taken an active interest in educational, municipal, government, and political matters. Represented St. Antoine Ward in Montreal City Council for a number of years. Has been a member of the Legislative Council for the last twenty years, representing his native division, Wellington.
A Life Governor of the Montreal General Hospital, Mechanic’s Institute, Western Hospital, Protestant Infants’ Home, and various other institutions.
