Served with 13tli Hussars during South African War. and was present at all engagements up to Relief of Ladysmith (despatches). 2201 awarded Humane Society’s Bronze Medal for saving life of trooper, 13th Hussars, in River Tugela, January 1900. Hunted 13th Hussars Harriers when regiment quartered at Dundalk, 9G.
