Career

2d, Mistress Alicia Vasquez, of Point Loma, California, 1905 (divorced 1911). At 15 enlisted in Company K, 8th Massachusetts Volumes, served Army of Potomac. Bank clerk, 1867-1874.

Successively bookkeeper, secretary, manager and president Ingersoll Rock Drill Company, New York (now Ingersoll-Sargent Drill Company), 1874-1883.

Member Pierce & Thomas, 1883-1887. President Pierce-Miller Engineering Company, 1887-1894, continuing independently until retired, 1898.

Became intrested in Theosophy, and joined the Theosophist phist Society, 1896, and made Theosophical crusade around the world. Joined the Universal Brotherhood and Theosophist Society in 1898, and was appointed cabinet officer

Appointed inspector and supervisor, 1913.
