Career
Admitted to Ohio bar, 1883, began practice at Columbus. Attorney general of Ohio, 1896-1900. Anti-trust Republican until 1901, now Independent Republican.
Prosecuted suits under Ohio anti-trust laws against Standard Oil Corporation. Special counsel in prosecution of oil trust cases under President Roosevelt. Special counsel for State of Oklahoma in constitutional contest before President Roosevelt.
