The youth he was educated in New York and attended classes in architecture at the Cooper Union School, afterward continued his studies at Columbia University.
Mr. Carr had been a resident of Yonkers for many years, and in professional practice designed and built several of the city's early structures, including the High School and the Labor Temple, the latter remodeled by him in more recent years into an apartment house for World War II veterans. He was also a former State Deputy of New York, and served as consultant in planning new and re-building older structures.
