After a public school education, he attended the London International College, graduating there in 1885.
Mr. Hudson received his architectural training in the San Francisco office of William Curlett, later worked as draftsman in the office until 1895 in which year he moved to Los Angeles to open an office of his own. Between 1899 and 1901 he held the position of Building Inspector under Mayor Eaton, afterward formed a partnership with William A. Munsell, which was maintained until the early thirties.
Under the firm name he designed several early city and county buildings, of which the most important were the first County Museum building at Exposition Park , and early units of the County Hospital. In addition Hudson & Munsell: the old Temple on Pic. Street; Niles Office Building and the first store of the Southern California Music Company.
He had been a member of the S. C. Chapter since 1902.
