Background
Frank Oranje was born in 1962. His documented education and professional career are both connected with the Netherlands, where he studied and practised law.
He is documented as speaking English, French and German, in addition to the Dutch setting of his studies and legal work.
Education
Frank Oranje is documented as a student of Leyden University, which is known today as Leiden University. The institution was founded on 8 February 1575 by William of Orange, during the Eighty Years' War against Spanish rule, and it is the oldest university in the Netherlands.
The law faculty was part of the university from its earliest years. In the seventeenth century Leiden's law faculty was internationally prominent and helped lay the foundations of what became known as Roman-Dutch law. Leiden Law School is today one of the university's seven faculties.
His studies at Leyden are dated to 1987.
Career
Frank Oranje is documented as a partner of Loeff & Van der Ploeg, a Dutch law practice that developed from a Rotterdam practice. The firm grew out of the work of the Rotterdam lawyer J.A.L.M. Loeff, who had earlier served as dean of the Dutch bar association from 1960 to 1966.
During the 1980s the firm was regarded in the Netherlands as a leading practice for mergers and acquisitions, and it had opened offices abroad, including in Jakarta, New York, Paris and Singapore. In 1990 it entered a contractual merger with the Brussels firm Braun Claeys Verbeke Sorel, forming Loeff Claeys Verbeke. Part of that organisation was absorbed in 2000 into Loyens & Loeff, which is headquartered in Rotterdam.
