Following service in the first World War, he returned to Chicago in 1919 to work with the firm of Lowe & Bollenbacher, and continued a member of the succeeding firm of Granger & Bollenbacher until 1940.
During the few remaining years of his life, Mr. Venning was associated with Edward T. Janssen, architect of the Lutheran Youth Building. Together they designed the Cloister Apartments, Kent College of Law and the Medical and Dental Laboratories on the Chicago campus of the University of Illinois, also the Union Building at the University of Indiana and the Winnebago County Court House at Oshkosh, Wis., of which Granger & Bollenbacher were architects.
Mr. Venning had been a member of the Chicago Chapter, A.I.A. atter 1924, and was affiliated with the Illinois Society of Architects for many years.
