He completed his early education at St. Paul’s School, Concord, in 1887. Later he finished a three- year course in Architecture at the Massachusett Institute of Technology
In 1893 he began his career in Detroit as a partner in the firm of Stratton 6 Baldwin. Under that name he practiced in the city for eighteen years, during the latter part of which he was the administrative member of the firm. In 1911 Mr. Baldwin moved to Fredericksburg, and established an office in near-by Washington. While he continued to live in Virginia, he kept in touch with professional friends in the capital city, and remained an active participant in Institute affairs the rest of his life.
