Mills, Frank Moody was born on April 4, 1831 in near Ladoga, Indiana, United States. Son of Dan and Janet Westfall Mills.


Wabash College, 1843-1845, honorary Bachelor of Arts, 1921, as of 1849.


Began in printing office at 14 and at various times newspaper, lawbook and magazine public, Des Moines, Iowa, and Springfield, Illinois. Public in Des Moines, 40 years. Merchant, farmer, stock raiser, builder of electric rys. and lighting plants.

Builder and now president Sioux Falls Traction System. Established several city and inter-city bus lines. State printer of Iowa 3 terms, state binder 4 terms.

Recruited 10th. Iowa Infantry for Civil War. Ex-president S. Dak. Society S.A.R. Honorary member Lambda Chi Alpha, 1921 (Wabash College).

Republican from organization of the party, 1856.
