Dorland, Frank Norton was born on October 11, 1914 in Peru, Nebraska, United States. Son of Frank Norton and Marion Hope (Abbot) Dorland.

Attended, California Christian College, 1931—1933. Attended, San Diego State College, 1933—1938.

Career

Artist preliminary design engineering Convair Company, San Diego, 1938—1949. Private practice art conservator La Jolla, 1949—1959, San Francisco, 1959—1963, Mill Valley, 1963—1973, Santa Barbara, 1973—1985. Head art department The Quaderia Institute, San Luis Obispo, since 1994.

Formerly engaged in authentication and classification art objects. Consultant art associations, galleries, museum, collectors, churches.

Achievements

  • Pioneer in use of special waxes in painting. Inventor oil and water mix wax mediums, first scientifically compounded fine arts wax. Engaged in research and development waxes and resins and properties and usage of electronic quartz crystals, also pioneer biocrystallographer, researcher on crystals, the human mind and the evolution of human consciousness.

    Authenticated original Our Lady of Kazan (The Black Virgin of Kazan) Russian Icon, 1963.
