Vobeckÿ studied at the Academie de la Grande Chaumière and Academie de la Model in Pans (1926-27).
Retired since 1965, he had been a fashion designer at a prominent salon in Prague and director of its design department for twenty years. From 1955 to 1975 he lectured part-time at the School of Applied Art and Design in Prague. He is a painter as well as a photographer, and his paintings were reproduced in the Prague periodical Volné smèry during the years 1931-50. Working in black-and-white, Vobeckÿ creates "poetical photomontages and assemblages of diverse objects."
Vobeckÿ has belonged to the Czechoslovak Art Union since 1952 and to the Union of Creative Artists, "Manes," since 1931.
