Background
Eggert was born at Höchstädt on the Danube, and studied decorative painting at Augsburg and Munich. But he afterwards devoted himself entirely to glass-painting, in conjunction with Ainmiller, Hammerl, and Kirchmair, and endeavoured to raise the art from its long decline.
