Frédéric Barzilay left Greece and moved to France in 1930. From 1952 to 1977 he was an international civil servant for UNESCO. He says of his work: "I have specialized since 1964 in the nude, with a tendency, for the past three or four years, to the abstraction of the forms, the lines being reduced to essential signs, almost ideograms. Part of my work is printed on aluminum and canvas."
