After an early education he took up the study of architecture, first at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and beween 1903 and 1907 at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris.
Returning to the U.S. in the latter year Mr. Hirons opened an office in New York and maintained an independent practice for several years, later was a partner in the firm of Denison & Hirons. Among the works with which he was identified were the George Rogers Clark Memorial at Vincennes, Ind.; War Memorial Auditorium at Worcester, Mass.; Rockland County Court House, New York; Davidson County Court House, Nashville, Tenn.
