With United States engineer corps, Boston Harbor Improvement, 1900. Instructor in civil engineering, 1901-1904, assistant professor, 1904-1910. professor municipal and sanitary engineering, December 1910-1919, head of сivil engineering department, 1919-1943, University of Minnesota.

Executive director American Public Works Association, 1943-1945. Vice president, Minnesota State Board of Health, 1932-1944, president, 1936-1939. Member board engrs. Minneapolis-St. Paul Sanitary District Designed numerous water works, sewerage systems and other public works.

Retired 1947.
