Bente, Frederick was born on January 22, 1858 in Wimmer, Hanover, Germany. Son of Frederick John and Anna Maria (Snyder) Bente.

Education

Came to the United States, 1866. Bachelor of Arts, Concordia College, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 1878. Graduate Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri, 1881, Doctor of Divinity, 1923.

Career

Ministry, 1881; pastor at Humberstone, Canada, 1882-1893. Professor of symbolics, Concordia Seminary, 1893-1927. Co-editor Lehre und Wehre, since 1893.
