Career
He was the son of Thomas Gunton and Mary and he studied organ under Alfred Pettet at Street Peter Mancroft in Norwich. He is buried in Upton churchyard. He was:
organist of Southwell Minster 1835-1841
Organist of Chester Cathedral 1841-1871.
