Active in opposition to the bill for the adoption of the metric system which was before the House of Representatives 1902-1906. Presented with a testimonial by manufacturers in recognition of these efforts, and since made commissioner of America Institute of Weights and Measures, organized by leading engineers and manufacturers to oppose the metric system.
