Parental grandmother was a Tuttle, a direct descendant of the family of Tuttles who came from Tuttlefield, England, on the Good Ship Planter in 1627, founded New Haven, Connecticut, and gave of their homestead for site of Yale College. Graduated from the high school and business college.
Began cattle business at 12 as hired hand. Had charge of outfit at 19. Was president Cross Bar Land & Cattle Company, Colter-Greer Sheep Company, Colter Construction Company.

President since 1923, Arizona Highline Reclamation Association (non-profit organization), to defeat Colorado River compact and build dams and High Lincolnshire Canal, irrigating 4 million acres of land, developing 5 million electric H.P. Now president Colter, Arizona, Water Filing and Reclamation Association Trustee for Arizona of major future water resources, filing on them in behalf of State, since 1923.
