Doug was born on October 9 1946 in Birmingham Alabama to the Parents of William and Renzine Walker. He was the Third of Six Children. During his childhood he grew up in the area called Smithfield in Birmingham and attended Lincoln Elementary School and Parker High School
After Graduation from High School, in 1965, entered the Military (USAF) and Trained as an Aircraft Electrical Technician. From 1965 to 1970 I worked mostly on Cargo Aircraft. In 1970 I was selected to serve in the Viet Nam War working on Fighter Aircraft at Korat Ab Thailand. After returning from Southeast Asia I was assigned to Charleston AFB SC. During this time I was allowed to retrain as a Computer Programmer. After Retraining i was then reassigned to Gunter AFB Alabama to the Airforce Data Systems Design Center. Here I decided to enter in College and get my Degree in Computer Science. After acquiring my Degree I was selected for OTS and Commissioned as an Air Force Officer. Afterr Commisioning I served an additional 10 Years and Retired as a Captain with 23 Years service. After retiring from the Air Force i went into business for approximately 8 Years and then decided to enter into the Teaching Profession. I found Teaching to be a very rewarding Career and remained in iit for 18 Years after which i retired.
