Fujima Kambe was born in 1769.
Fujima Kambe was born in 1769.
He was taught dancing and nagauta (a form of singing with samisen accompaniment).
He left his adopted family early in the Kansei Era (1789-1800) and called himself Kanjuro Fujima. He created such classical dance numbers as Genta, Mizuuri, I may б Suma, Shio-lcumi and Shigayama Sambaso. Died in 1821. After the fourth generation, the head masters of the Fujima School were female dancers. Was also a choreographer for the Kabuki drama.
