He joined the navy after graduating from the Engineering School, Tokyo University (1911). Studied for three years at the Naval College, Greenwich, England before he was attached to the Bureau of Naval Construction.
Career
He designed practically all Japanese cruisers of the Aoba class and 8,000-ton cruisers of the Mogami class.
