While in Meiji University figured as star shortstop and made tours to the U.S., Hawaii, Canada and the Philippines. Thereafter established fame as coach of baseball team of South Manchurian Railway. With restoration of professional baseball following termination of the war took to writing and is now active as a baseball critic.Nonregular staff member of sports section of Tokyo Times.
