Career
When she became a nydgo, or Court lady favored by an emperor, in 968, she was called Umnetsubo-no-nydgo. At the time, her father was Chief of General Affairs and not included among the Court nobles. Choshi was the first woman to become a nydgo whose father was not a nobleman.
