Career
She won the confidence of Emperor Gotoba and was called Kyo-no-tsubone. Was granted the title of Kyo Nii in 1219 and meddled in State affairs. Taking bribes, she lived in grand style. It is said that the Civil War of the Jokyu Era was caused by ex-Emperor Gotoba because of Kaneko’s instigation.

Married to Muneyori Fujiwara, a high-ranking Court official, and then to Yorizane Fujiwara, Prime Minister.
