Fujiwara no Michikane was born in 961, the son of Kaneie.
He was Minister of the Right. He persuaded Emperor Kazan to abdicate and become a priest in order to make the son of his daughter (Emperor Ichijo) emperor. He died only on the seventh day of his appointment as Kampaku (Adviser to the Emperor). So he was called Nanoka (seven days) Kampaku. Was accorded the title of Dajo-daijm (Prime Minister) posthumously.
