Fujiwara Michiko was born in 1900 in Okayama Prefecture, Japan.
From her childhood, she worked as factory worker and nurse, and in Shizuoka Prefecture joined the National Proletariat Women's League and was engaged in social movement with her husband Kenji Yamazaki. Following the war, divorced him and returned to her former name Fujiwara. She was elected to the House of Representatives twice and then to the House of Councilors once.
Became member of the Central Executive Committee of the Socialist Party.
