Background

Spent his early days under Fascist influence.

Career

Joined the Japan Caricaturist Federation, organized (1926). Was arrested on charges of violence under the Public Safety Security Law (1932).

Since 1945, has continued to publish his political and social carica¬tures on the Akahata (Red Flag), the organ of the Japanese Communist Party.

Noted also as an artist of children's paintings.
