Funaki Shigenobu graduated from the German Literature course of Tokyo University.
Career
After a writing career, Funaki Shigenobu became professor at Waseda University. An expert on Goethe and Heme, he visited Germany (1923). He translated plays of Strindberg and wrote essays on German literature.
