Futagawa Sukechika was known as a writer of Chinese poems and calligrapher. Adoring the South Imperial Dynasty, he transplanted cherry trees of Mt. Yoshino (the seat of the short-lived government of the South Dynasty) to his garden. Kotomichi Okuma was the most distinguished of his disciples.
