1891-1894 directed survey of Lake Onega. 1897-1903 supervised hydrographic expedition to Lake Baykal. Made series of magnetic measurements and astronomical observations.
From 1903 concentrated on seas of Russian North. 1903-1905 headed hydrographic expedition to Arctic Ocean. 1905-1908 headed special survey of While Sea.
1908-1912 assistant head Main Hydrographic Board. 1912 head, special Murmansk Coastal Survey.
After 1917 October Revol served on Northern Seaway Committee, Siberian Revol Committee. Directed hydrographic study of Siberian rivers and seas. Cape in northern tip of Novaya Zemlya named.for him.
