1918 graduate Natural Sciences Department, Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, Petrograd University.
From 1930 head, Chair of Histology, Orenburg Agric Institute. From 1944 also head, Chair of Histology, Orenburg Medical Institute. Did research on the relationship between muscles and tendons and wrote detailed description of the structure of the sarcolemma.
Observed the part piayed by the epithelium in the regenerative process. Devised new methods of studying the epithelial organs and of cultivating tissues in an aseptic focus of inflammation within the body (heteroplastic method). Made studies of almost all epithelial organs in the course of research on the specific properties and interrelationship of various tissues and on the role of neurohumoral regulation in localized tissue processes.
Provided a dynamic description of the tissue elements of the internal medium and explained the origin of non-cellular formations in the connective tissue. Devised modification of Belorussian’shovskiy’s argentation method. Also did research on experimentaly induced malignant tumors of viral origin.
Wrote some 40 works.
Correspondent member, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Medical Sciences from 1947.
