Machinist at Ul’miya Station, Chinese-Eastern Railroad. Fought in 1905-1907 Revol. February 1918 elected chairman, Amur Oblast Soviet and Blagoveshchensk City Soviet.
Then head, Amur Council of People's Commissar. Late 1918 helped organize partisan movement in Amur area. 1919 helped plan armed rebellion against American and Japanese expeditionary troops and White forces.
March 1919 captured by White forces.
