Fitter, miner, Stocker, assistant mech, then soldier in Russian Army. 1883 first arrested for “disregarding religion”. 1894—1917 served 14 terms of imprisonment and three terms of exile.
Did Party work in Mariupol’, Lugansk and Starobel'sk. Took part in 1905-1907 Revol. Helped establish Soviet regime in Starobel’sk.
1919-1920 fought in Civil War. Then with Workers and Peasants’ Inspectorate. Delegation at 8th Russian Communist Party (Bolsheviks) Congress.
