Worked as a blacksmith. 1941 joined ranks of 28th Guards Artillery Regt, 9th Red Army Guards Infantry Division. Summer 1942 captured by Germans and interned in Vyaz’ma cocentration camp.
Later transferred to concentration camps in Poland, Yugoslavia and, finally, Italy. Summer 1944 escaped from camp near Genoa with help of Italian communists and joined Nino Franchi Partisan Brigade. 1945 fell in action near Catalupo.
