G. HOWARD CHAMBERLIN

Background

G. Howard Chamberlin was born in 1865 in England, UK. He was brought by his parents to this country during his boyhood.

Education

As a student he entered the architectural office of Robert H. Robertson, and after supplementary training abroad.

Career

Mr. Chamberlin settled in Yonkers and early in the century opened an independent office. In 1913 he was appointed Architect to the City Board of Education and in that office had charge of the planning and erection of many schools in the city. He continued in practice until 1934 when he retired to his home at Clinton Corners, N. Y.

Membership

As an Emeritus member of the New York Chapter, A.I.A. to which he was elected in 1921, and advanced to Institute Fellowship in 1932, Mr. Chamberlin passed away at his home in Clinton Corners at the advanced age of eighty-three.
