Achievements

  • Achieved notoriety for being a leader of the Nixon White House "Plumbers" team who were arrested during an attempted burglary at the Democratic National Committee's headquarters at the Watergate Complex on June 17, 1972. Liddy served 54 months in prison after being convicted on charges of burglary, conspiracy, and wiretapping. The scandal surrounding the Watergate break-in and its subsequent cover-up ultimately resulted in the resignation of President Richard Nixon on August 9, 1974.
