Member of the Workers Opposition, 1921-1922. Expelled from the party for publishing, without official approval, a brochure demanding democratization. One of the founders and leaders of the Workers Group (which included communists and non-communists).
In the Manifesto to the Workers Group (1923), demanded the abolition of NEP, because it favoured peasants against workers. In summer 1923, tried to organize strikes. Arrested, 1923, and exiled to Baku, later emigrated.
After World War II, returned to USSR, arrested and perished in the Gulag.
