Educated, received first art lessons from makers of pottery of his native state. Studied, Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes, 1919-1921 (on scholarship from governor of Aguascalientes). Decorated Mexican pavilion.
Centenary Exposition of Rio de Janeiro, in collaboration with Roberto Montenegro, 1921-1922.
Career
Professor., Escuela Central de Artes Plásticas. 1925; director, an open air school of painting, 1926. Director, magazine Forma.
1926; organized Mexican exhibit at Ibero-American Exposition, Seville. Spain, 192930; co-director, exposition hall, ministry of edn., 1931-1932.
