Career
Gabe Price was born in Fairburn North Yorkshire, he worked as a checkweighman at the Frickley Colliery and was devoted to the service of the miners. He was the son of a miner and at the age of twelve started work in the pit himself at Hemsworth Colliery. He was also an alderman and a county magistrate and was the uncle of horse-racing owner-breeder and publisher, Philosophy Bulletin.
