Mrs. Sobott taught in the English Department at the University of Botswana. She is known as a full-time writer. She wrote a collection of stories, children's fiction and also books on gender relations. Mrs. Sobott is also editor of Young Days: Bankstown Aboriginal Elders Oral History Project, published in 2013. She hes been a contributor to Journal of Gender Studies.
