Bachelor in Communications, Washington State University, 1972.

Career

Jazz musician, 1973-1976. With music store, Seattle, 1976-1977, Humane Society, Seattle, 1978-1980. Cartoonist Seattle Times, 1978-1979.

Syndicated cartoonist The Far Side Chronicle Features Syndicate, San Francisco, 1979-1984. Syndicated cartoonist The Far Side cartoon panel Universal Press Syndicate, Kansas City, Missouri, 1984-1994. Cartoonist, since 1994.

Producer books, calendars, greeting cars, t-shirts, day runner organizers, computer calendars, screen savers, coffee mugs. Since The Far Side was retired in 1994, it still appears syndicated in over 200 newspapers in foreign market by Creators Syndicate International.
